I am primarily a Java 17 developer specialising in Spring Boot and building APIs. I have worked constantly with Java since 1999! Historically, I specialised in RDBMS including Oracle, PostgreSQL and MariaDB but more recently I have worked with Big Data solutions such as Apache Cassandra, DynamoDB and MongoDB.

AWS Certified Banner

During 2023, I re-certified as an AWS Solutions Architect - Associate and AWS Cloud Practitioner. This compliments several years industry experience across many of the key AWS services such as S3, EC2, ECR, IAM, ECS, Lambda and others. In fact this website is hosted in an S3 bucket with a domain registered in Route 53 (and a Cloudfront distribution).

DevOps Ready!

I have years of Jenkins experience which I consolidated by becoming a Certified Jenkins Engineer. I also passed the Terraform Associate and Docker Certified Associate (that includes Kubernetes) exams. These efforts define my future direction which I very much see as cloud-based and with a firmer understanding of devops technologies.
